Bangkok - 20^th  October 2022 SAIC MOTOR-CP and MG Sales (Thailand) the manufacturer and distributor of MG cars in Thailand, honored to welcome Ambassador Thanathip Upatising, Head of APEC 2022 TASK FORCE, Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visit the plant for readiness of receiving 25 units of alternative energy vehicles, including NEW MG ZS EV, MG EP PLUS, NEW MG HS PHEV, NEW MG VS HEV and NEW MG HS, to facilitate attendees of the APEC Economic Week Leadership Week (APEC Economic Leaders' Week: AELW) Throughout the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation: APEC) or APEC 2022 during 14 – 19 November 2022.

On this occasion, Mr. Zhang Haibo and MG management team led the APEC 2022 TASK FORCE operation team, Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visit the MG assembly plant which has a maximum production capacity of 100,000 vehicles per year. It features the latest automations and intelligent robotics, along with the highest levels of production and quality control technologies.

The eco-friendly plant is located within the EEC (Eastern Economic Corridor) which benefits from position as the region’s logistics center. This makes it a global production hub for right-hand-drive MG vehicles for the Thai and ASEAN markets, as well as other markets around the world. As well visited the battery production line for compatible in the NEW MG VS HEV and NEW MG HS PHEV models, further discussing the preparation for electric vehicle production in the future. That has been studied and researched on dealing with electric vehicle batteries that are not being used continuously which show the potential of being a technology leader of electric vehicles and responding to the new economic model such as BCG (Bio-Circular-Green Economy) where electric vehicles are one of the key factors in the dimension of Green Economy.

The company is given an opportunity to become a “APEC 2022 MOBILITY AND LOGISTICS PARTNER” to provide all type of energy car total 25 units including the NEW MG ZS EV, MG EP PLUS, the NEW MG HS PHEV, the NEW MG VS HEV, and the NEW MG HS as facilitated transportation for the summit’s participants and staff at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. To be chosen as partner this time emphasized that people are now accepting MG brand more than the past. MG brand not only brought new car model that capable for all uses functionally and practically but also provides an advanced innovation and safety system to double the driving performance. MG assures in its 158 showrooms nationwide. However, this will represent the willingness of cooperation with brand with an aim to leverage well-being of Thai people. MG hopes to create advanced technology and further development in all MG models that can lift up Thailand a better place in the future.
