MG demonstrates great success with significant 5 time increase in sales

• Sales of MG vehicles in the first 6 months of 2016 totaled 3,778 cars, equivalent to the total sales achieved in 2015
• MG brand to further enhance, expanding to 80 dealers by the end of 2016
• MG approved certified used cars and continuous improvement of services raising customer confidence to a new level
MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. announced its total sales in the first half of 2016 where the company experienced remarkable success with 3,778 units sold, equivalent to the total sales achieved in 2015, or 5.3 times in terms of sales growth compared to the corresponding period last year. The most popular model among customers is the MG3. Meanwhile, the MG5, MG6 and the recently launched sport SUV NEW MG GS showed very satisfactory sales results.
Strong customer confidence in MG cars is clearly reflected in MG’s strong growth since the end of last year, and this is due to the enhanced manufacturing processes that meet customer needs under the concept of Brit Dynamic, as well as MG’s market boosting events that are reaching target customers in different areas. Both are complemented by image-building efforts through various platforms to provide information and highlight MG’s outstanding features, as well as its ‘Passion Service’, MG’s after-sales service to provide above and beyond services which was introduced to strengthen the MG brand. Most recently, MG has launched its latest campaign, Approved Certified Used Car by MG, to reaffirm its commitment to manufacture and provide unrivalled services throughout, thereby optimizing customer satisfaction in Thailand.
June marked the highest sales performance in the past 6 months, with a total of 811 units being sold. The MG3 outweighed the other models with 558 units sold, rising 19 percent compared to total sales in May and double the amount of sales achieved in the same period last year. The accumulated sales of MG3 in the first half of this year reached 2,590 units.
The total sales of the MG6 in the first 6 months of 2016 stands at 235 units, up 87 percent compared to the same period last year. The accumulated sales of the MG5 was 769 units while the NEW MG GS reached 184 units worth of its total sales.
“The growth of MG in the first 6 months of this year moved strongly forward in contrast to the uncertain automotive market in Thailand. Our growth reflects growing confidence in all MG cars among customers, as well as in the quality of services aimed to build the highest customer satisfaction. MG is confident and ready to continue to move forward to reach a sales target that is double the amount achieved last year, equivalent to 10,000 cars by the end of 2016, and to improve our after-sales service to serve the growing number of MG customers as well as to increase the number of dealers nationwide to 80 from the existing 42,” said Mr. Pongsak Lertruedeewattanawong, Vice President of MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
MG has launched the Approved Certified by MG at the recently held Fast Auto Show 2016. Every used MG car has been approved and certified with an extensive checklist consisting of 200 items, warranty of 144 main car parts, as well as an additional 1 year or 30,000 km warranty.
MG also offers special promotions under the “MG Mega Bonus campaign” from today until the end of July, encompassing special interest rates, a low down-payment and a complimentary first-class car insurance coupled with a one-year compulsory insurance, as well as a variety of car accessories.
