Bangkok – 8 March 2023 - SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales (Thailand), manufacturer and distributor of MG cars in Thailand, announce the appointment of Mr. Zhao Feng as the President of SAIC Motor-CP. The company also appoints Mr. Xu Yin as the President of MG Sales (Thailand) and Vice President of SAIC Motor-CP. As the leaders of “MG” which now enters its second decade in the business, together the two new executive members aim to drive transformation and bring Thailand’s automotive industry to the next level.

MG marks the beginning of the first quarter of 2023 with the appointment of two new executive members who will join force to make MG a popular and highly-recognized brand in Thailand. With a goal to become one of the top 5 in the automotive industry, they will lead the company towards the development under the customer-centric strategy through products and services that respond to customers’ specific demands.

As the President of SAIC Motor-CP, Mr. Zhao Feng will be in charge of the company’s overall business for manufacturing in Thailand. He had 30 years of experience at SAIC Motor Corporation in China before joining SAIC Motor-CP in 2018 to expand more business opportunities and to transform car manufacturing plants in Thailand to become a hub for the production of right-hand drive vehicles in Southeast Asia which meets the global standard.

A highly experienced executive member with expertise in sales strategies, Mr. Xu Yin had overseen the sales of New Energy Vehicles at SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle in China for over 23 years before joining MG Sales (Thailand) in January 2021. Now as MG Sales Thailand President and Vice President of SAIC Motor-CP, he will be in charge for the overall management and business strategies of MG Sales Thailand.

During the past 10 years, the company under the helm of Mr. Zhang Haibo has become widely recognized in Thailand. With a number of achievements to bring about transformation and to create a new standard for Thailand’s automotive industry, he had set the big achievement to company a place in the 10 best-selling brand rankings within only 5 years and reached a total sales volume of 150,000 units within only 10 years. Mr. Zhang Haibo also turned MG into the leader in Thailand’s electric vehicles by creating the ecosystem for electric vehicles in the country while also setting the new, superior standard for products and services to trigger new demands among Thai consumers — a strong foundation and stepping stone for MG to move forward towards sustainable growth.
